We tried the SWIT Epicure Training Restaurant at Bunbury on 1st March where they served a set menu on that evening. That’s the 2nd round on their term 1 on semester 1 2011.
As the menu is fixed, I picked a Flametree Cabernet Merlot which is a very classic Margaret River red. In the wine menu the vintage is listed as 2008 but when the waiter bought over a 2009. After clarification, she checked again and bought back 2008 – which is a last bottle of their stock !
Overall the food are quite good, and the set menu price is only at A$20 !!!!!
Remarkable dish is the Pea Soup with Mint, Prosciutto and Lemon Labne. As most of the soup we got from the menu from other restaurants would be pumpkin soup !!! This pea soup is a bit sweet and with some unique favours to me too !
Another remarkable thing is the tasting glass for the wine. They put one more glass purely for the wine tasting… first time to see that. Asked the trainer but still cannot convince with the answer though… anyway Cheers !
